2026 BC/YT Super Series Victoria Day
RCV skaters had an excellent weekend at the 2026 BC/YT Super Series Victoria Day Competition held May 14–17 at Fleetwood Arena in Surrey, BC. The competition brought together skaters from across British Columbia and the Yukon for one of the final major events of the season.
Throughout the weekend, our athletes demonstrated tremendous effort, focus, and sportsmanship both on and off the ice. Whether competing in STARSkate or competitive categories, our skaters showed the results of their hard work and preparation while continuing to build valuable competition experience. Most importantly, they supported one another, represented the club with pride, and embraced the opportunity to challenge themselves in a high-level event environment.
A particularly exciting addition to this year’s competition was the new “Elements Competition” format for Pre-Novice and higher categories. Rather than performing a full program, skaters competed head-to-head in a tournament-style knockout format by executing selected technical elements from their programs. Winners advanced through successive rounds, creating an energetic and engaging atmosphere for both skaters and spectators.
The format provided athletes with a unique opportunity to practice performing technical elements under pressure while showcasing consistency, confidence, and mental toughness in a fresh and exciting way. It was a fun evolution of competition that highlighted individual skills and created a dynamic spectator experience.
Congratulations to all of our RCV athletes on a fantastic weekend of skating. A big thank you as well to our coaching team, volunteers, and families for their continued support throughout the season.RCV skaters had an excellent weekend at the 2026 BC/YT Super Series Victoria Day Competition held May 14–17 at Fleetwood Arena in Surrey, BC.
