Racquet Club Summer Training Camp
The Racquet Club is pleased to be offering a comprehensive Summer Training Camp designed to meet the needs of every level of skater. Centrally located at Pearkes Arena in Victoria, the Racquet Club of Victoria Summer Training Camp provides packages which include fitness training, dance, stretch & flexibility, Pilates and jump class as well as our on ice edge & stroking classes.

The First Saturday of the month is Bottle Drop off! Please leave your empty bottles for recycling at the front entrance to the rink near the concession on the first Saturday of the month. Thank-you for participating in this fundraiser!

RCV Skaters Disco in Kelowna with Vaughn Chipeur

Racquet Club skaters enjoyed a trip to Kelowna for the Skate Canada BC/YT Development Team Seminar in April. RCV Director of Skating , Deena Beacom, was brought in as a guest coach for the seminar. RCV showed their spirit by trading in their skates for disco shoes for the Saturday night banquet.

Butchart Gardens Holiday Ice Show Complete with Snow!

It was a winter wonderland at the Racquet Club's Annual Butchart Garden's Holiday Ice Show. Not only did we have the magic of the snow, we had a special guest performance by Olympian Gary Beacom. What a great afternoon!

Congratulations to all Racquet Club Skaters that competed at the Western Challenge in Mississauga, Ontario December 5-9,2007

Canada ’s top junior, novice and pre-novice level skaters competed at the 2008 BMO Financial Group Skate Canada Western and Eastern Challenges as they tried to qualify for the 2008 BMO Skate Canada Junior Nationals in Ottawa, Ontario in early February.
The Racquet Club congratulates the following skaters:
Sophie Knippel and Andrew Britten of the Wentworth FSC- Won the gold medal in Junior Dance! They are heading to Nationals!
Mitchell Wallace and Emily Thain ( Burnaby FSC) in pre-novice pairs- Won the bronze medal and are heading to Junior Nationals!
Nicole Nunn and Josiah Early pre-novice pairs- 5th Place and are heading to Junior Nationals!
Braeden Donaldson and Isabella Holt (Oak Bay FSC) pre-novice pairs- placed 5th place in the short and are heading to Junior Nationals!
Taylor Moon and Malcolm Rohon O’ Halloran, novice dance- placed 9th
Pilar Maekawa and Leonardo Maekawa pre-novice dance- placed 5th and have earned their way to Junior Nationals!

Our medal winners are as follows:
Gold Medals
Mitchell Wallace and Emily Thain (Burnaby FSC) won the gold medal in pre-novice pairs and will be heading to the Western Challenge, which will be held December 5-9 in Mississauga, Ontario.
Wade Warwaruk and Loni Delmage (Duncan FSC) won the gold medal in juvenile pairs and will be heading to Junior Nationals, in Ottawa, Ontario, January 30-February 2, 2008.
Silver Medals
Taylor Moon and Malcolm Rohon O Halloran won silver in novice dance.
Pilar Maekawa and Leonardo Maekawa won silver in pre-novice dance.
Both of these dance teams will be heading to the Western Challenge.
Bronze Medal
Nicole Nunn and Josiah Early won the bronze in pre-novice pairs and will be competing at the Western Challenge.
Other notable results are:
Mitchell Wallace placed 4 th in senior men and will be representing BC at the Canadian Championships (senior nationals), which will be held in Vancouver, January 16-20, 2008.
Braeden Donaldson and Isabella Holt (Oak Bay FSC) placed 4 th in pre-novice pairs and will be competing at the Western Challenge.
Braeden Donaldson placed 5 th in the junior men’s category and Leonardo Maekawa placed 5 th in pre-novice men. Both of these skaters will be alternates for the Western Challenge.
Nicole Nunn placed 9 th in junior ladies, Malcolm Rohon O Halloran placed 6 th in novice men.

April "Wows" hockey fans as special guest skater
April is one of RCV's senior skaters. She won the bronze medal in the Bronze Triathlon at Pacific Skate this year in Dawson Creek. Click here for a video clip of April.

Congratulations to Braeden Donaldson for winning the Bronze medal in Saskatchewan!
On September 28-30, Braeden competed at the Sask Skate Invitational competition in Saskatoon. Braeden was chosen by the section to represent BC in the Junior Men's category and made us proud by placing 3rd overall in his category. Congratulations, Braeden!

Sophie Knippel off to the Vienna with new Dance Partner!Sophie is off to the Junior Grand Prix in Vienna in mid September with her new partner Andrew Britten of the Wentworth FSC. Their first competition was in Lake Placid in early August. Good luck in the upcoming season, Sophie and Andrew!
